We are the Liverpool City Region’s largest and oldest continually operating LGBTQ+ charity – engaged in creating a brighter healthier future for our communities. Sahir has been supporting people living with HIV and our LGBTQ+ communities across Merseyside since the mid 1980s.

Our history is punctuated by the strength, fortitude, creativity and togetherness of local queer trailblazers and sexual health activists.

We work to ensure that all local lives lost to HIV/AIDS will be remembered and that all stories of heroism, compassion, activism & love in the face of prejudice, stigma, inaction and hate will always prevail.

We’re there for people when they need us most. We provide practical and emotional support, camaraderie and connection to:

  • LGBTQIA+ people
  • People living with HIV

We do not shy away from tackling injustice, fighting discrimination and addressing inequalities. We campaign locally, regionally and nationally with the aim of creating a fairer and more equitable society for our community.

We collaborate with others to increase our reach and impact. Our work is insight and data-driven and our programmes are co-developed with those we serve.
