LGBTQIA+ Little Free Library

logocircle

We are a Little Free Library that operates as a mobile library specialising in LGBTQIA books aimed at children and young people. We operate under the Little Free Library ethos of take a book, leave a book, and go to young people’s groups to give access to LGBTQIA+ books to LGBTQIA+ young people.

Access to LGBTQIA+ books is becoming more and more difficult, especially due to book banning and the treatment of LGBTQIA students in school settings. The library aims to go directly to the young people, and give them access to high quality LGBTQIA books. Research shows that LGBTQIA+ young people are less likely to have mental health problems and feel isolated and alone if they can see themselves represented in books, and for a lot of young people it can help them with their identity.
