The Leicester LGBT Centre is proud of its achievements to date and its excellent history of supporting LGBT+ communities across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our work has helped towards creating a fair and equal society where all lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people can achieve their full potential. The Centre provides accessible services and a range of support to combat the social isolation, exclusion and discrimination that LGBT+ people face, and to promote a positive environment, empowering people who are LGBT+ and educating the wider community.
The LGBT Centre currently delivers a number of services including youth work, social and support groups, 1:1 support, counselling, social events and activities, information and guidance, advocacy, venue hire, consultancy, training and education. Each of our service areas attracts considerable interest, is well attended, and feedback demonstrates the positive impact the services have on both the LGBT+ communities and the wider community.
Our vision – an outline of our goals and aspirations for the next five years and into the future:
To be a first-choice destination to celebrate, support and connect our Centre users, members, stakeholders and the wider communities in which they live, work and engage.
To influence and effect positive change, enabling our individual and collective voices to be heard.
To develop and co-create ambitious and sustainable services through continued dialogue with our Centre users, members and stakeholders.
The strategic objectives of Leicester LGBT Centre are to:
Develop Community
Provide Relevant and Timely Services
Be Sustainable
The Centre is open Monday - Thursday for pre-booked appointments, Counselling Services and group sessions.
