Exhale.group Launch Event

Exhale.group is a new organisation which works to support Queer, Trans and Intersex People of Colour (QTIPOC+) living in Glasgow and Scotland. We are delighted to be launching our pilot project Space to Be, being delivered in partnership with Parhelia, on the 25th of May.
Space to Be is centred around a singular goal: to reduce social isolation. We believe in the concept of Community as the unit of resilience – which requires us to Be together.

It is a 12-month project, for 16-25-year-olds identifying as QTIPOC+ living in Glasgow, that will focus on creativity as a way to learn more about ourselves and each other, finding new ways to express who we are. By exploring self-expression in this way and seeing ourselves represented we can begin to accept the different parts of our identities and mend the tensions between our culture and identity.

The project will help young people identifying as QTIPOC+ to find community, reducing social isolation and loneliness, and to build community resilience by increasing individuals self-confidence and self-acceptance by positively exploring their identity through creative methods in a safe and nurturing space.

Workshops will be every 2-4 weeks, between May 2023 and May 2024 with a focus on film, writing and art, featuring local QTIPOC+ creatives who will help to guide our journey.

Our launch event is on the 25th of May from 6-8:30pm at Transmission Gallery in Glasgow.
